Training Courses

We offer a range of Shiatsu training courses: a Foundation course; a One Year course and a Three-year professional  practitioner Training Course.

The Shiatsu tuition provided by the school is part-time, non-residential weekend courses. There is a week long residential at the end of the third year training.

The classes, which are held in a friendly and supportive atmosphere, are enlivening and inspiring. We pay particular attention to both group dynamics and the needs of the individual to ensure a stimulating and enjoyable learning environment.

Foundation Course:

Our next course starts September 2026 (19/20) the Wild Goose Space, Mina Rd, St Werburghs, Bristol, BS2 2YP. Please check out our Foundation course page for more information and to register: /training-courses/foundation-course

Year 1:

This follows on from the Foundation course and the two courses togther comprise the One year training. Our One year course now carries its own “Holistic Acupressure” qualification and upon completion you can gain certification, get insured and practice as a ‘Well-Being’ practitioner. This means that you can charge for your sessions and use this to help pay for your on-going Shiatsu Practitioner training! /training-courses/one-year-course

Year 2:

This middle year of training starts to look at Zen Shiatsu with a deepening awareness of the different Shiatsu systems, and we also start to delve more deeply into personal develpoment and group dynamics. To find out more information click here: /training-courses/practitioner-training/year-two

Year 3:

This final year of training focuses more fully on becoming a professional Practitioner, including starting to write a website and thinking about what we want from our practice both practically and emotionally. We explore the extraordinary vessels with Suzanne Yates and run clinic days working directly with the public. The third year completes with a week long residential./training-courses/practitioner-training/year-three

Additional Information:

Students are given individual attention and supervision, each class teacher being assisted by two graduates of the school; tutorials are also available as part of the course. Students are required to receive regular Shiatsu treatments throughout the duration of the course.

Being part of a Shiatsu group is emotionally and spiritually nourishing and can provide a support for you in your life as well as for your Shiatsu. Our study programme, presented as separate progressive courses, allows students flexibility of choice. The courses are arranged to run consecutively but students are able to 'take time out' between courses if desired.

All our classes are held in Bristol apart from the Third Year Residential which is held at a residential training site. In the past we have used Earth Spirit or similar venues.
